2011 Weatherly Hill Climb

Coming up again, is the Weatherly Hill Climb.  With it’s 6 turns and steep hill it presents a challenge to drivers and excitement for spectators.  This year is NO exception.

The turn out will be better than before with racers in over 20 classes running full out to get to the top of the mountain.

The spring hill climb will be held June 11th and 12th.  Take a look at the PA Hill Climb Association‘s website for more information.

Take a look at some pics from last year.

HOT DOG!

Wienermobile in Weatherly

We had a special visit from the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile today in town. It was GREAT having that classic icon in our small town! They parked right on First and Wilbur, within feet of a school busstop. The kids went NUTS! I’ve got a few snaps from there.  No hotdogs, but plenty of swag and fun for the kids!  The only question I had was do they need a KMR* license do drive it! Thanks for stopping by and making our day.  Read on for some pictures from their visit!   Read More…

As you may have noticed, its getting to be election time again in PA. We’re gearing up the Municipal Primary on May 17th. The deadline for voter registration was April 18th and will reopen May 18th.

Voting takes place at Eurana Park and Tweedle Park.

Moving the Police Station

I’ve been to the Weatherly Police Station a couple times.   The tiny room is cramped even when you’re in there with a single officer.  So  the issue was brought up at the Concil meeting by Norman Richie.

Everyone can agree that the police do work hard for Weatherly, and the size of their closet office should be changed.

There’s really no room for expansion in the former train station which acts as a borough building.

Tom Connors agreed to send a letter to our state representatives to ask for help in relocating our officers to a better facility.
